What is the Retreat?

 The Te Toki Retreat House is a luxury self contained holiday home which can be booked individually for corporate private functions and family holidays or combined with the Te Toki Guest House for exclusive weddings.

Is there a Deli or organics shop?

 

The best deli on the Island is "Island Thyme Catering  & Deli"  located in Surfdale.  This is a top class deli with all sorts of delicacies for sale including espresso coffee/glorious cakes/sandwiches/take away heat up meals.

8 am to 5 pm.    You will once again need to get in early as you will miss out.

There are a lot of great restaurants on Waiheke for your dining pleasure from Food Embassy opposite the Woolowths supermarket in Ostend to Thai and Turkish in Oneroa and old favourite Thymes Tables Restaurant which is located upstairs from the Island Thyme Deli and is highly recommended.  There is a new Gelato Café for coffee etc. plus some great beach cafés in Onetangi and of course there are all of the fantastic Waiheke Island Vineyards with restaurants to choose from.

Organic Shop?

Located on Tahi Road Ostend  9 am  till 6 pm Monday to Saturday.

What do we provide?

Full gourmet kitchen and ample supply of platters, glassware, cutlery, small cooking appliances.  If there is something that you can’t find in the kitchen, then call the manager and something suitable can usually be found.
 

We provide a semi commercial Espresso machine.  We do have a grinder for you to use also.  We supply basic cleaning essentials including all the kitchen basics – dishwashing liquid, tablets for the dishwasher, glad wrap, tin foil and rubbish bags are also supplied.  Toilet cleaner, soap, free body wash/shampoo/conditioner and hand wash plus toilet paper for the bathrooms.  We have a front loading washing machine and we supply the laundry liquid for this.

Do we supply linen and towels?

We supply fine linen supplied on all our super-king sized ultra comfortable beds...(top quality fine cotton sheets supplied with top of the range duvet inners/covers). This also includes fluffy white towels and men's and woman's luxury Baksana bath robes supplied in all bedrooms  at both the Retreat and Te Toki Guest Houses.  

Separate spa towels are supplied and are stored in the bathrooms. 
 

Suitcase stands and towel racks are supplied in all bedrooms.
*Guests are requested to please bring your own beach towels.

Where do I get wood for the fire?

We supply 2 metres of wood for the large outside fire place and pizza oven. Costs will be included in quotes/invoices. Any extra firewood required over and above will incur an extra charge.

When can I get the key to the property?

The manager is usually on-site to meet guests and the property is open for guests on their arrival. It is essential that guests call the day before to organise the arrival requirements with the Manager. (James' mobile: 027 253 1118).

Is there sky TV or Internet?

All channels for Sky TV (not Rialto) and Wireless Internet available in all rooms of the Retreat House only.  Sky is available at Te Toki Guest House but there is no wireless internet connection

Do we have to clean up when we leave?

Guests are requested to make sure their rubbish is in the bins and that the rubbish is separated and put into the correct bins for recycling (same process as the Auckland City Council Wheelie Bin requirements). A vacuum cleaner is provided in each house for guests use. To assist us please place laundry in the wash hampers.

I need parking space, what is available?

Off-street parking is available for approximately 12 cars in total. Guests are requested to please not park on the road side just to the right of the Retreat's main driveway as it is a turn-around area. Wedding guests will be shown where to park. Guests take note this is an Island and parking is often difficult anywhere as the roads generally narrow with little or no on street parking.

Is there any garden lighting?

The gardens are lit extensively including coloured garden lighting.

What is the phone number at Te Toki Retreat?

(09) 372 6923 this is not the office number and is the number for Guests to give out when staying at the Te Toki Retreat House. There is no phone at the Te Toki Guest House.

What is the cell phone signal like?

The reception for 027 (Telecom) is excellent. The reception for 021 (Vodafone) has been improved.

What are the directions from the car ferry at Kennedy Point?

Follow the traffic to the end of the road off the car ferry then turn right at the round about at the end of this road.

 

Continue to follow this road as it goes down a hill across a causeway with water on either side of the road.

 

Keep following this road round a sharp corner to the left.

 

As you approach the next very sharp corner keep left and carry on straight through passed the stop sign...Do not turn right.

 

Veer left at the only stop sign this is Wharf Road and the follow this road as it joins up with Te Toki Road (If you go past the Liquor Barn you have gone too far. You will need to do a U turn and go back and turn right at the stop sign).

 

Tetoki Retreat is at 29 Te Toki Road, Palm Beach right next to a bus stop on the left just before going up the hill.

 

There is a sign on the letter box saying Tetoki Retreat.

 

The guest house is the next driveway up on the left had side again at 19 Te Toki Road / Follow the RED CONCRETE driveway up the drive / First house on the right.
